Probably a copy of an Irish pattern or Preston chariot plane.

It is quite heavy and appears quite well made, however please see photo's as the front handle goes through into the sole, this is however flattened off and doesn't effect use but looks unusual.

The usual rust staining and the moth has very small chips or rough edges around it.

The base measures 6 3/8" x 1 7/8"

The Preston Iron is 1 1/2" width, please note again it is only the Iron that is preston not the plane, the plane looks to be home made with a Preston iron (not the right type) put in it.
